Aims & Scope

A bridge between two ways of seeing the economy.

Economic and Regional Policy Interactions publishes high-quality theoretical and empirical research, and review articles, that build bridges between the pillars of modern economics and regional economics.

We are interested in work that uses the principles of both disciplines to answer policy-relevant questions — where macroeconomic theory, spatial and regional analysis, and applied policy meet.

  • Regional dimensions of macroeconomic and development policy
  • Spatial economics, agglomeration, and regional disparities
  • Trade, migration, and inter-regional spillovers
  • Fiscal, monetary, and structural policy across regions
  • Empirical evaluation of place-based and regional interventions

Scope is illustrative and will be finalised with the editorial board.

Ethics & Peer Review

Transparent by design.

Every policy below is public because trust is built in the open. Our standards follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Peer review

Double-anonymized review

Each submission is screened editorially, then sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. Author and reviewer identities are mutually concealed, and the full workflow is published.

Publication ethics

COPE-aligned standards

A public Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement covers authorship, competing interests, corrections, retractions, and complaints.

Integrity

Plagiarism screening

All manuscripts are checked with recognised similarity-detection software before review, against a stated threshold policy.

Generative AI

AI use disclosure

Authors must disclose any use of generative AI. AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Our policy describes acceptable use in writing and review.

Indexing & Discoverability

Built to be found — and built to be trusted.

Every article receives a permanent DOI and complete metadata, with English abstracts and JEL classification codes, so research is discoverable wherever economists work.
